The Two Week Wait (2WW) can feel like an emotional rollercoaster — hopeful one moment, spiraling the next. If you’re here, just know: you’re not alone.

For many women trying to conceive, the days after ovulation and before test day are filled with uncertainty, “what ifs,” and quiet anxiety. Even if you’re doing all the right things physically, emotionally, you might still feel like you’re holding your breath.

That’s why I created this gentle EFT Tapping Script — to help soothe the anxiety that often shows up during the 2WW, and to support you in feeling more grounded, connected, and emotionally safe.

 

What Is EFT Tapping and How Does It Work?

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) — or “tapping” — is a powerful mind-body tool that helps calm your nervous system, shift anxious thoughts, and release emotional tension stored in the body.

By tapping on specific meridian points while speaking affirming statements, you send a calming signal to your brain — one that tells your body: it’s safe to relax, even while you wait.

 

Why Staying Calm in the TWW Matters

During the Two Week Wait, your body is doing delicate, complex work behind the scenes — preparing your womb for possible implantation. But when stress and anxiety take over, your nervous system can shift into fight-or-flight mode, flooding your body with cortisol and adrenaline.

While this stress response is designed to protect you in dangerous situations, it also signals to your body that now might not be the safest time to conceive. Historically, during war, famine, or extreme emotional strain, reproduction slows down — our bodies instinctively prioritize survival over creating new life. And while you may not be in a literal war zone, the pressures of a modern 9–5, constant multitasking, or the emotional weight of fertility challenges can mimic that same high-alert state.

The opposite of fight-or-flight is the rest-and-digest state, where your nervous system feels safe. In this state:

  1. Blood flow to the uterus and ovaries improves, delivering oxygen and nutrients

  2. Hormone signaling becomes more balanced

  3. Your body can focus on healing, growth, and creating a welcoming environment for an embryo

That’s why stress-releasing practices like EFT Tapping, meditation, and breathwork aren’t “just” for emotional wellness — they’re also physiological support for fertility. They help create the calm, receptive conditions your body needs to increase the likelihood of successful implantation.

How to Prepare for Your EFT Tapping Session

Before you begin, take a quiet moment to notice how you’re feeling — especially your anxiety, stress, or emotional intensity levels. You might rate them from 0–10, or simply note a few words that describe your current state.

EFT uses a series of gentle tapping points on your face, upper body, and hands. In this practice, you’ll start at the side of your hand (Karate Chop point), then tap through a sequence around your face, under your arm, and at the top of your head. At each point, tap gently as you speak the phrase for that spot, then move on to the next one. You can go at your own pace — the goal is to stay present with the words as you tap.

When you’re done, check in with yourself again. Has your tension shifted? Do you feel calmer, lighter, or more grounded? Writing down your reflections can help you see your progress over time — and remind you of what’s possible when you give your nervous system this space to reset.

Free EFT Script: Easing Anxiety During the Two-Week Wait

This three-round tapping script is designed to meet you exactly where you are — in the swirl of uncertainty, in the longing, in the fear of “what if it doesn’t work” — and gently guide you toward a state of calm, trust, and openness.

Start with the Karate Chop Point (located on side of hand where you would do a karate chop)

“Even though I feel anxious during this wait and unsure of what’s coming, I deeply and completely accept myself and all my emotions.”

Round 1 – Naming the Anxiety (The Clearing Round)

  • Eyebrow (EB): “This anxiety is sitting in my chest.”

  • Side of Eye (SE): “I feel the tension growing every day I wait.”

  • Under Eye (UE): “Part of me is scared to hope too much.”

  • Under Nose (UN): “What if I’m disappointed again?”

  • Chin (CH): “This waiting is so hard on my heart.”

  • Collarbone (CB): “I feel like I’m bracing for bad news.”

  • Under Arm (UA): “All this fear and uncertainty…”

  • Top of Head (TH): “It feels overwhelming sometimes.”

Round 2 – Gently Releasing & Reframing

  • Eyebrow (EB): “But what if I could soften into this moment?”

  • Side of Eye (SE): “I’m allowed to feel all of this and still trust my body.”

  • Under Eye (UE): “I don’t have to hold it all together.”

  • Under Nose (UN): “My body is doing the best it can.”

  • Chin (CH): “I can choose moments of peace, even now.”

  • Collarbone (CB): “It’s safe to let go of some of this tension.”

  • Under Arm (UA): “I’m open to supporting my mind, body, and spirit.”

  • Top of Head (TH): “I’m learning to meet this wait with compassion.”

Round 3 – Anchoring Calm & Confidence (The Positive Installation Round)

  • Eyebrow (EB): “I feel calm and grounded in my body.”

  • Side of Eye (SE): “I trust my womb to prepare for new life.”

  • Under Eye (UE): “I choose to fill this wait with hope and gentleness.”

  • Under Nose (UN): “My body knows what to do.”

  • Chin (CH): “Every breath brings me more peace.”

  • Collarbone (CB): “I welcome balance and harmony into my body.”

  • Under Arm (UA): “I am creating a safe, nurturing space for life to grow.”

  • Top of Head (TH): “I am ready to receive whatever is meant for me.”
